Human trafficking is one of the most prevalent, violent, and destructive crimes committed globally.  Rivalled only by the illegal drug trade, it’s a criminal enterprise that makes more than $40 billion each year by people who sell children, men and women for labour and for sex to others.

The Statistics

The statistics are overwhelming. The UN estimates 2 million children are exploited every year in the global commercial sex trade. In some instances young girls are forced to sell their bodies more than 15 times a day. The average age of children forced into prostitution is 12 years old.

AND THE REALITY IS GRIM. LESS THAN 1% OF VICTIMS ARE EVER RESCUED.

The trafficking of people is a very human story, told every day in every part of the world.
